- In the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
- I received his Ph.D. and M. Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, India, Department of Computer Science & Engineering.
- I am a life member of the Indian Unit for Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence-IUPRAI(L-226) and a member of several other technical professional organizations, including IEEE.
- Digital image security and analysis, content-based image and video retrieval, computer vision, and machine learning are some of his areas of interest and research and have contributed to and reviewed papers for numerous highly esteemed international conferences and Science Citation Indexed Journals (SCI).

- [January, 2026] Congratulations to my M.Tech scholar, Vaishali Thakur! Her paper, “A PPO-Based Framework for Sequential Underwater Image Enhancement in a Continuous Action Space,” was accepted at ICPC2T-2026.
- [September, 2025] Our paper, “A Comprehensive Survey of Content-based Image Retrieval Schemes: Advancements, Challenges, and Future Directions,” has been accepted for publication in the prestigious Multimedia Tools and Applications journal.
- [June, 2025] Thrilled to announce that the research work of my M.Tech scholar, Sameer Mirza, titled “Fusion of Deep Cross Block Stage and YOLOv9 for Enhanced Small Object Detection in Aerial Imagery,” was published in IEEE International Conference on Computer, Electronics, Electrical Engineering & their Applications IC2E3 2025.
- [May, 2025] Congratulations to my M.Tech scholar, Atul Sharma! His paper, “AttentiveFP: An Attention-Guided Deep Learning Approach for Fingerprint Liveness Detection,” was presented at IC2E3-2025.
- [March, 2025] The paper by my M.Tech scholar, Sourabh Sharma, “Fusion of Handcrafted and Deep Convolution Networks Learned Features for Image Retrievals,” was successfully published and presented at RAIT 2025.
- [February, 2025] Served as an Organising Secretary for the 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems (ICAMS), a successful collaboration held at NIT Hamirpur with IIT Roorkee and IUST J&K, India.
- [July, 2024] Successfully organized an online short-term course (e-STC) on the topic “Research Applications in Deep Learning” for aspiring researchers.
